Only 10 days 'til Christmas

Only 10 days 'til the big day & it's snowing here!  A perfect night for staying in and tree decorating.  We got our tree last night, so it's sitting in the living room corner, with the tree lot net wrapping still on it, waiting very patiently.  Not so sure how our new puppy-girl is going to take to an ornament-filled Christmas tree.  I hope she doesn't think it's one big puppy toy!  She's already been chewing on, and playing with some of the shipping paper that my Shiny Brite ornaments came in from ebay.  Luckily, she didn't get to the ornaments, just the wrapping.  Whew!  Some cute ideas for displaying the Shiny Brites here. Now, anyone know where I could find 100-or-so glass candle holders?

So, looking at a few more decorating ideas, and I happen to love this one, too, from BHG.
And I even have 4 styrofoam tree shapes. Wish I had some of that yummy gingham  & toile red ribbon they used. Those of us who have ribbon love will appreciate that I have more rolls of Christmas ribbon than I can count, so there must be some red gingham here somewhere! Another super-cute-but-do-I-have-time project is these glass bell jars, filled with vintage glass ornaments.

Day 4 Christmas Journal

Love it that these girls have all been friends since Kindergarten.  This is their last year together before middle school, and they're still having fun, at a Chorus performance as 5th graders.
All digi LO, using Ali's 6 x 8" templates from Designer Digitals.

Day 2- Christmas Journal

We don't get much snow around here, & if we do, it's not usually until after the first of the year.  Right now it's only "faux snow" at our house.  Couldn't decorate without it, love the shimmer & the shiny.

Shiny Brite Love

Look what lovelies arrived on my doorstep today!!!

I'm so obsessed in love with  Shiny Brite ornaments.  I've been picking them up at thrift stores and yard sales for years.  This year ebay had the goodies, two big shipping boxes of them arrived- and not one broken ornament!

I'm also loving the photography tips from Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas class.  Taking pics with a bright red background to make them pop was the tip today.  I definitely need some practive on this one (lighting), but I'm getting the feel for it.
Hope you all have a great weekend with lots of time for decorating and crafting fun.
Let the Ohhhh Shiny-ness begin!!!

Take back your Christmas!

I love that!  Sometimes Christmas kind of becomes it's own being, going through the motions, buying the presents, hiding the presents, wrapping the presents, attending events, shipping boxes, making the list and checking it....twice?  More like 200 times, on some days, LOL.

Enjoying the month of December so far and that's exactly how I want it.  We're 2 days in, and so far I've organized scrap supplies, gathered gift wrap and ribbons, and even set up a scrap area in my dining room for this month.  Normally, I do all my artsy-crafty stuff in the loft upstairs, and while there is much more space (and more supplies than I'll ever need upstairs), I wanted to be downstairs in the middle of things this year.  Oh, and did I mention I need to be downstairs to keep an eye on our new puppy-girl?

Awww, sweet and cute, isn't she?

And then the teeth come out, totally unexpected....whoa!
She's really sweet, just a little puppy-girl of 7 weeks or so who hasn't learned her manners yet. (We're working on that.)  She's a little wild one, chews everything, so leaving her alone for even a little while would be....uhm, dangerous to say the least.

Have my manifesto up, a la Shimelle, to remind me of all the fun I'm gonna have making.

More to come soon :)
